About the productJapanese

"here and there" is an alternative magazine launched in 2002 by Nakako Hayashi, a former editor of Shiseido's corporate culture magazine "Hanatsubaki." Since its launch, "here and there" has garnered enduring popularity around the world, fusing fashion, art, and culture with a unique editorial approach and a DIY spirit of "recording things worth recording among your own time, friends, and events." It has distinguished itself from the rigid model of conventional magazines.
From the early stages of the magazine, Nakako Hayashi has invited a group of unique creators active in a variety of fields to help with writing, photography, and design for ``here and there,'' including Susan Cianciolo, Pascal Gaten, Mark Borthwick, Maeda Yukinori, Homma Takashi, Ann Damus, Mike Mills, Miranda July, Kim Gordon, Ellen Fleiss, Dominique Gonzalez-Foerster, BLESS, Cosmic Wonder, Shimabukuro Michihiro, Koganezawa Taketo, etc., as well as Hattori Kazunari, who has served as art director since the first issue.
Its style is poetic and introspective, capturing real emotions and life moments in the form of conversations and letters, exploring subtle and deep feelings between people. Here and There is currently 15 issues in print.

This new collection publishing project is an expansion of the collection "here and there 1 - 10" published by Nieves Books in 2012, adding content from issues 11 to 13.5. To celebrate the publication of this book, Nakako Hayashi has asked many of her longtime friends to co-author messages and memories, while Kazunari Hattori, the designer from issues 1 to 13.5, has also created a new front and back cover for the book.
*All front and back covers are individually silkscreen printed in three colors.

This collection book, which is over 1,000 pages long, is a valuable work that traces the changes in fashion, art, and society that have been told through Nakako Hayashi's creative work at here and there over the course of more than 20 years.
The work also vividly expresses Kazunari Hattori's design philosophy of "intentionally breaking the rules after understanding them," allowing you to feel the aesthetics of graphic design that have been passed down through the generations.
