A record of the art festival that took place alongside the reconstruction effort.

On May 5, 2023, Oku-Noto Triennale 2023 was held despite the devastation caused by the 2023 Oku-Noto earthquake. The density of the artworks and the hospitality of the local community impressed many people. Then on New Year's Day 2024, the 2024 Noto Peninsula earthquake occurred. Many people were forced to leave the area, but those who visited the Oku-Noto Triennale came to Suzu and offered a helping hand in the recovery effort. The process leading up to Oku-Noto Triennale 2023 is recorded in the words of those involved and in a yearly timeline, and all works by the 59 participating artists and events following the 2024 Noto Peninsula earthquake are recorded.

“Every time we have tried to hold an art festival, we have been hit by the COVID-19 pandemic or earthquakes, and there have been some negative opinions about the art festival, but I think it has actually saved us. When the region has suffered great damage, we have been saved by everyone working hard toward the single goal of the art festival.”
