A collection of works published in conjunction with Naoya Hatakeyama's "Excavating the Future City" exhibition currently being held at the Minneapolis Institute of Arts.
Comprised of five chapters - "Birth/Genesis," "Visible/Invisible," "Trans/Flux," "Real/Model," and "Death/Rebirth" - and featuring 24 series of works, the book can be considered a omnibus that looks back on Hatakeyama's work over the past 30 years, capturing urban life and architectural environments.
The book also includes texts by Nakamori Yasufumi, chief curator of the photography department at the Minneapolis Institute of Arts, and Toyo Ito, a leading Japanese architect who won the Pritzker Architecture Prize in 2013, which are also must-sees.
