This book is the "Works Edition" of the Complete Works of Gocho Shigeo, which has a total of two volumes (the "Reference Volume" is scheduled to be published in November 2023).
In recent years, there has been a growing momentum both at home and abroad to reconsider the history of Japanese photography, particularly since the 1960s. The publication of this complete collection was planned because books providing an overview of Gocho Shigeo, who is considered one of the most important photographers in this field, are currently difficult to obtain.

The "Works" section includes all of the works from the four collections of works published during his lifetime: "Days," "SELF AND OTHERS," "When I Open the Door," and "In a Familiar Town," as well as the entirety of two series of works that were published or compiled during his lifetime: "Memories of Water" and "Childhood's Time."
