About the productJapanese

A collection of works by Los Angeles-based fashion brand Online Ceramics. This book explores the joyful, chaotic world of tie-dye and skeletons. It tells the story of the founders Elijah Funk and Alix Ross' early days as art students, when they first toured selling bootleg Grateful Dead T-shirts, and how their handmade T-shirt business eventually evolved into a philosophical artistic act with its own unique aesthetic.

Covering topics as diverse as punk music, haunted houses, veganism, and even how to smoke DMT through a potato, this book is a portrait of the unique partnership between friends and fellow artists Elijah and Alix that changed the very idea of the t-shirt forever.

The book features a foreword by gallerist David Kordansky, conversations with singer-songwriter John Mayer, musician Daniel Lopatin, and jazz singer Michelle Coltrane, as well as commentary from TV host Andy Cohen, artist Wes Lang, GQ Global Editorial Director Will Welch, and costume designer Heidi Bivens, and a complete archive of over 700 shirts.
