Kitagawa Utamaro is an internationally renowned ukiyo-e artist representing Japan.
Utamaro produced three sets of shunga, each consisting of 12 large-format nishiki-e prints. This book introduces the complete series of "Negai no Itoguchi," a masterpiece of Utamaro's shunga, which is filled with realistic conversations between men and women, and includes a preface, notes, and additional text in modern Japanese and English.
