This is the first collection of work by London-based photographer Rosie Marks. To coincide with the release of the capsule collection in collaboration with Kiko Kostadinov and HYSTERIC GLAMOUR, Rosie Marks shot the campaign and created this book.

A mosaic of eleven fluidly interwoven photographic series, exploring contemporary notions of beauty and glamour, the book centres on themes of the strange and the curious, with the artist allowing his subjects to exist freely within worlds of their own construction or reconstruction.

The first chapter, "Russian Lips," begins with an exploration of the modern aesthetic where beauty can be achieved through body modification. The protagonist is a Liverpool-based aesthetician who specializes in "Russian lips," a technique known as lip filler that enhances and gives the lips a heart shape. Working out of a spare room in her home, she offers her community instant glamour at a fraction of the cost. The author takes us into the world of her subjects, who are trying to make their own aspirations come true. From London to Los Angeles, the book is filled with encounters with people from all walks of life who are willing to pay the price in pursuit of a better life and beauty.

The final chapter, "Hollywood Piano," focuses on the past, primarily Hollywood's Golden Age, and explores the nostalgic influence it continues to have on our psyches. At the grand opening of "Hollywood Piano" in Santa Ana, California, Humphrey Bogart and Ingrid Bergman lookalikes are filmed posing with restored original pianos used in the movies. Here again, glamour and beauty are on sale.
