To celebrate the 70th anniversary of the founding of the Chloe Maison, the first collection archive book featuring catwalk photos has been released.
Founded in 1952 by Egyptian Gaby Aghion, Chloe was a pioneer of luxury ready-to-wear, offering an easy, feminine and elegant haute bohemian style for the emancipated modern Parisian woman. As early as the 1960s, the brand spotted and recruited a young Karl Lagerfeld. He stayed with the brand for over 20 years, gaining fame and recognition around the world through his work at Chloe, but Stella McCartney (and her assistant Phoebe Philo) took over shortly after graduating from fashion school.
This book is the definitive chronicle of Chloé's history and collections. The brand's history begins with a brief overview and bio of each designer, while each collection is introduced with a short text revealing its influences and highlights, and illustrated with selected catwalk images. An extensive bibliography section with index concludes the book.
