About the productJapanese

Limited to 30 copies

Yoshikazu Yasuhiko has been in charge of illustrations for the Crusher Joe series, a science fiction novel based on the original work by Haruka Takachiho, since it was first serialized.
This work, a representative example of Japanese space opera, was made into a film by the same man in his directorial debut in 1983.
The sight of Joe and his friends adventuring across space is interesting in a different way from Gundam, which also deals with outer space.

The printmaking technique used is a letterpress printing technique called "primagraphy," which combines the "giclée" technique (French for "spray" or "jet"), which ranks alongside silkscreen and lithography, with color adjustment techniques. Under the supervision of a specialized operator who has mastered color control techniques, fine ink droplets are sprayed onto the paper rather than printed, allowing for delicate nuances to be expressed while making the most of the paper's texture.

Yasuhiko Yoshikazu uses opaque watercolor paint called "gouache" to create individual illustrations for posters, covers, etc. on illustration boards of BB Kent coarse grain or Watson paper. The dull surface coloring that hides the base, which is indistinguishable from the original, is reproduced as a reproduction of the original using letterpress printing technology. This is a valuable work that allows you to see the softness, delicacy, and dynamism of Yasuhiko Yoshikazu's illustrations in detail.
