The title of the book, "BAU," is of course borrowed from "Bauhaus," the world's first modern design school founded in Germany, and the German meaning of BAU is "house, architecture, structure, animal's den, roost" according to the dictionary. It makes sense to me to think of it as my own representation of BAU = den or roost. When I was in elementary school, I made my own BAU (den).

An architect who not only builds houses, but also creates things that the people who live there will use, art that brings joy to their lives, and even the peace of mind that allows them to say they want to die. That is the kind of architect I intend to live as. (From the publisher)
