It depicts a scene from the "Akatsuki no Chaji" tea ceremony, expressing the world of wabi-sabi.
We spend a moment together in the space of the teahouse, then depart at dawn. What lies ahead suggests that each person's path in life is different, and that they are free to do whatever they like without being bound by others.

The Wabisuke camellia and the painting of Miyamoto Musashi depicting a dead tree and a cuckoo symbolize the spirit of "wabi" and the beauty of "sabi." 15 years after the release of the perfume "HYOUGE," an alias of the tea master Furuta Oribe, this is Parfum Satori's new perfume, created with the theme of Rikyu's wabi tea ceremony.

Just before dawn. The sun rises from a pale white sky, and light shines through the paper screen. Opening the eastern window a ray of light streams in, eventually reaching the base of a single camellia flower in a vase in the tokonoma alcove. There is an ink painting on the wall. There is a moment of tension as a bush warbler goes from stillness to movement. The flickering candlelight in the darkness blends into the morning, signaling the end of the "dawn tea ceremony."

The faint rustling of the guests' knees and the quiet clicking of their white tabi socks on the tatami mats gradually fade away, and silence fills the room.

The red Wabisuke camellia is modest and alone, and independent, as if it knows that there is a road ahead of each of us.

[Contents Details]
The sharp top note is like the cold morning sun shining down. The Wabisuke Tsubaki blooms in silence, its deep crimson color combining rose and purple ink. At the end, the purple incense smoke fills the room, and then fades away gracefully with the movement of the air.

"Rikyu and Oribe

From Yasushi Inoue's "Honkakubou Ibun"

Rikyu fought without a sword in times of turmoil. He believed in wabi-cha, or "the pure enjoyment of tea regardless of rank or status," and tried to spread this idea to the world.

He brought tea to the center of politics and power, and experienced repeated experiences of ambition and hope, battle and despair. At the end, when Hideyoshi ordered him to die and he committed suicide, he realized that "it was my own obsession with wabi-cha tea," and he was able to become free, saying, "I am free to follow my own path alone."

When we launched the Matcha-scented Hyoge (formerly Oribe) in 2009, we were drawn to the free and bold designs of Furuta Oribe.

I was sometimes asked why I chose Oribe and not Rikyu, but at the time I felt it would be extremely difficult to express Rikyu's simple yet strict style in perfume. I tried many times but was unable to achieve it.

Even now, I am nowhere near the state of mind known as "wabi suki joju," but I have tried to relax and create my own version of wabi.
