Sora no Kotoba: Sharp cutting edge

Although it is a member of the walnut family, it does not have edible seeds like the Japanese walnut.
Due to its shape with its sharp scales spread out, it is also called "fox comb" or "monkey comb."
Seeds form among the spiky pine cones and are carried far away by the wind.
