Sora no Kotoba: To treasure and protect

The name "Zenichigo" comes from the fact that the flowers last a long time. In Japan, they have been used as Buddhist flowers.
Its English name is "bachelor's button", and it is said that it comes from the fact that people would meet their lovers with this flower in their pocket, and whether it withered or not would tell the fate of their love.

The pink parts that look like petals are actually the leaves that protect the flower. The actual flower peeks out from between them.
