When Sora starts elementary school, he leaves his adoptive mother, Fumi (Mama), and begins living with his birth mother, Hanano (Mom).
Hanano, who does not do housework and prioritizes her work as an illustrator, is supported in her life by Saeki, who works at a bistro in the shopping district, and Tamoto, the housekeeper.
When Sora became increasingly frustrated with Hanano and ran out of the house, Saeki made him pancakes.
From that day on, Sora learned how to cook from Saeki and continued to write down the recipes in a notebook.

A popular work that was nominated for the 2023 Booksellers' Awards.
The paperback edition will include two short stories, one of which is a new work.
The commentary is by author Haruna Terachi.
