Specification This book features 125 photographs of 17 private homes taken by the late Taki Koji (1928-2011) between 1968 and 1979. The architects featured in the photographs are Shinohara Kazuo (1925-2006), Sakamoto Kazunari (1943-), Ito Toyo (1941-), and Shirasawa Hiroki (1943-), and the photographs are copies of film and prints that each architect had entrusted to them by Taki when he was alive. Artist Iinuma Tamami, the editor of this book, has found 12,000 frames of Taki's architectural photographs by the time of the book's publication, and more than half of the photographs are being published in this book for the first time, around 50 years after they were taken.
The photographs are arranged in order of the year of completion of the subjects, and in addition to basic information about the architectural works, the book includes drawings by the book's designer, Yuto Takamuro, and a document plotting the locations where Taki took his photographs. In addition, two texts are included: "The Words of House," one of the 28 essays that Taki contributed to Kishin Shinoyama's photo collection "Meaning of the House" (Ushio Publishing, 1975), and "Houses Vanished Deep in the Sea: Taki Koji's 'Anti-Architectural Photography'," written by cultural anthropologist Ryuta Imabuku.
