This monumental volume celebrates 25 years of creative work, and invites 32 curators to return to the magazine, each with their own chapter to express their own worldview through the pages of the issue. The cover is designed by Martin Margiela. Under the title A Magazine Curated By, Margiela, who was the first curator of the magazine, designed the cover of the issue on the left and a photo he took for this issue on the right.

Founded by Walter Van Beirendonck, a Belgian fashion designer and educator who is part of the Antwerp Six, A Magazine Curated By is arguably the most intimate publication any designer can have the opportunity to create in. Each issue of the magazine is created by a fashion designer for a culture: a community of fashion lovers.

Launched in 2000, the magazine published N°A (Dirk Van Saene), N°B (Bernhard Willhelm), N°C (Hussein Chalayan), N°D (Olivier Theyskens), and N°E (Viktor&Rolf) as the predecessors of A Magazine Curated By, and relaunched as A Magazine Curated By in 2004, the magazine serves as a vessel for communicating the visions of designers. Through its pages, the magazine aims to spread the voices of designers to the world and lead creative stories.

The magazine is not just a look back at the archives, but has been conceived within the framework and meaning of "a magazine" - a collection of ideas and images, but one that feels immediately timeless and timely through a contemporary lens. Designers featured have used its pages to approach how they shape their fashion collections through their own eyes and perspectives.

Some designers, like Martin Margiela, Delfina Delettrez and Martine Sitbon, have looked back to their issues for inspiration, responding to their past work, while others, like Yohji Yamamoto, Erdem Moralioglu, Glenn Martens, Olivier Theyskens, Peter Do and Kris Van Assche, have chosen to have photographers shoot their issues to tell stories that expand on the stories they have told. Many designers have since created their issues, freeing themselves from pure fashion and turning to other forms of creation, such as Jun Takahashi, Hussein Chalayan and Francesco Risso, who have presented their own artwork and creative expression in the issue. Others, like Lucie and Luke Meier and Proenza Schouler, have created new work, while Haider Ackermann, Bernhard Willhelm, Giambattista Valli and Pierpaolo Piccioli have treated the pages like diaries. Designers are also being asked to reinterpret the iconic "A" and its variants.

A Magazine Curated By is a unique concept magazine that invites a fashion designer as a guest curator in each issue to explore their worldview. In collaboration with the editorial team, the guest curators express their cultural values and aesthetics through innovative and original content. The magazine is Belgium's first fashion magazine and has gained international acclaim for its intimate views of today's most influential fashion designers.
