About the productJapanese

Special Exhibition
Official catalogue for the exhibition "Mika Ninagawa with EiM: Light of the Higan, Shadow of this shore"

Mika Ninagawa is one of Japan's leading contemporary photographers and film directors. This is the official catalogue for "Mika Ninagawa with EiM: Light of the Higan, Shadow of this Shore" (Kyoto City Kyocera Museum of Art, January 11, 2025 - March 30, 2025), the largest exhibition of her work to date in the Kansai region.

The first half of the book contains 60 pages of new photographs taken by Ninagawa himself at the venue, and the second half features explanations of all 10 exhibited works and archival photographs.
In addition, the production notes, which were compiled through in-depth interviews, provide a glimpse into the process that Ninagawa and the EiM team members went through to create the exhibition, complete with photographs.

The book includes contributions from Takahashi Shinya of the Kyoto City Kyocera Museum of Art, where the exhibition is being held, novelist Kanehara Hitomi, and curator Yamamine Junya, who passed away suddenly in January of this year.
Bilingual in Japanese and English.
