umipodo is a photobook by Seoul- and Tokyo-based photographer Solji Jeon, and is the first project undertaken by studio gomin's publishing label, LASTzCOPY.

This work is a record of the growth that photographer Jeon Sol-ji and actress Shiori Kutsuna have experienced together over the past 12 years, and reflects their deep friendship. This special title combines "umi" (海, umi), which means "ocean" in Japanese, and "?? (podo)," which means "grapes" in Korean. It also symbolizes "sea grapes," a specialty of Okinawa, which originates from Shiori Kutsuna's surname "Kutsuna."

The photo book contains photographs taken in different years, seasons and locations from 2011, when the two first met, to 2023, and is depicted as if each moment in which light can be felt is connected.

Solji Jeon
With a love for photography as a foundation, he has participated in exhibitions such as INTERNATIONAL YOUNG PHOTOGRAPHY (2018), DAEGU PHOTO BIENNIAL EXHIBITION VIEW FIND THE (2021), and SEOUL FLOWERS TOKYO (2022). He is expanding his activities in Seoul, mainly working for VISLA MAGAZINE, and is searching for miraculous moments when coincidences come together.

Shioli Kutsuna
Born in Australia. In 2013, he won the Newcomer Award at the 37th Japan Academy Awards for his role in the Japanese remake of Clint Eastwood's Unforgiven (directed by Lee Sang-il). After appearing in films by foreign directors such as Assassin in Black (directed by Hou Hsiao-hsien) and When the Woman Sleeps (directed by Wayne Wang), he moved his activities overseas. He has appeared in 20th Century Fox's Deadpool 2, Netflix's The Outsider and Murder Mystery, and APPLE TV's original drama INVASION. His latest work is the Netflix Japan original drama Sanctuary, and the highly anticipated game Death Stranding 2 produced by Kojima Productions.
