The legendary prewar foreign propaganda magazine "NIPPON" brought together giants of modern Japanese design, photography, and graphic journalism, including Yonosuke Natori, Yusaku Kamekura, Ken Domon, and Ayao Yamana. This miraculous achievement has been completely reprinted and republished in a new, bound volume in an easily accessible format.

The magazine was published in English, French, German and Spanish, with a bold layout that filled the large pages, fresh photographs and a lineup of first-class writers. It combined Japan's leading designers such as Yamana Fumio, Kono Takashi and Kamekura Yusaku with the photographs of Natori Yonosuke, Domon Ken and Kimura Ihei, and used the best printing technology, bringing about a dramatic development in modern Japanese graphic design and photographic expression, as well as in art direction and photographic expression. Natori Yonosuke's passion to create a magazine in Japan that could rival those in the West bore fruit in NIPPON. The magazine also became a great source of talent that would go on to be active in various fields after the war.
