"Journal du The" by French artist Johanna Tagada and German graphic designer Tilmann S. Wendelstein aims to explore the contemporary tea space.
Chapter 4 explores how plants other than Camellia sinensis are present in tea cultures across borders, as well as the practice and history of tea flowering.
Chapter 4 also features, among many other features, cross-cultural ceramics by Ladi Kwali, Hackney Herbal from London, the story of an 80-year-old Ikebana master and teacher, Masala Chai as a heartwarming heritage, Sooji Im and her journey to a leafy Korean tea oasis, Charlotte Perriand's tea house, tea diaries from Thailand, a short history of tea and rice in Japan, the secrets of chamaki, Makio McDonald in conversation with Peter McDonald, playful tea utensils by Angus Suttie, and of course, a new episode of Izumi Shiokawa's manga.
