To commemorate the release of the BIG BOOK Kishin Shinoyama x Kanako Higuchi photo book "Water Fruit," GINZA TSUTAYA BOOKS will be hosting a talk event with photographer Kishin Shinoyama. Published in 1991, the photo book "Water Fruit," which features photographer Kishin Shinoyama's photographs of actress Kanako Higuchi, revolutionized the expression of nude photography at the time and sparked a social phenomenon. Photographer Kishin Shinoyama will be invited to talk about the situation surrounding nude photography at the time and his works, looking back on them.

Kishin Shinoyama
Born in Tokyo in 1940. Photographer. He distinguished himself while studying photography at Nihon University College of Art, and worked for the advertising production company "Light Publicity". In 1961, he won the APA Award in the open category at the Japan Advertising Photographers Association Exhibition, and became a freelancer in 1968.
He continues to capture the times with new methods of expression and new technologies, such as "Gekisha," which has captured people who represent the era, such as Yukio Mishima, Momoe Yamaguchi, Rie Miyazawa, John Lennon and Yoko Ono, and "Shinorama," which combines multiple cameras and releases the shutter simultaneously. Since 2002, he has developed "digi+KISHIN," which combines still images taken with a digital camera with video. He also publishes many video works, still images, and DVD works on his website "shinoyama.net."
The exhibition "Kishin Shinoyama: The Power of Photography THE PEOPLE by KISHIN" first opened at the Contemporary Art Museum, Kumamoto in 2012 and has since traveled around the country, attracting over 900,000 visitors. In 2016, the exhibition "Kishin Shinoyama: The House of Pleasure" was held at the Hara Museum of Contemporary Art in Tokyo.
