Sora no Kotoba: Strong Unity

This plant was introduced to Japan during the Taisho era and is often planted as a street tree or in parks.
The autumn foliage is beautiful, and the leaves look very similar to maples, hence the name. However, they are not actually related to maples.
The thorny fruit is a cluster of many small berries.
The fruits dry out and open in autumn, releasing the winged seeds onto the wind.
