Kintsugi is a process that uses natural lacquer and pure gold powder to repair broken pottery.
Tsutsumi Asakichi Urushi-ten, a Kyoto lacquer shop with over 110 years of experience supplying lacquer to national treasures, important cultural properties and lacquer artists across the country, created this complete set of compact and functional gold lacquer tools in response to customer requests.
We have also provided a video tutorial (with a purchase bonus password) that follows the included instructions, explaining each step in an easy-to-understand manner.
The packaging is designed to prevent the contents from falling apart, making it easy to store, and it is a detailed and convenient set that embodies the user's "I wish I had this."

■Before you purchase
① We use natural lacquer, not synthetic resins (we use turpentine to dilute the lacquer and wash brushes)
②The instructions (headings) include the phrases "Step 1" to "Step 7", but this does not mean that the product can be completed in 7 days.
3. Some media say it takes "about one month" to complete. The time it takes to complete varies greatly depending on the shape of the item to be repaired, how it is broken or chipped, the season, temperature, and humidity. It is quite possible that it may take more than two months.
We use pure gold powder, but due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, supplies of gold powder are currently unstable.
If it is difficult to obtain flat powder, we may use pure gold round powder No. 1 to No. 4 instead, but please note that this will not change the method of use.
※About lacquer rash
Lacquer may cause a rash depending on your constitution and physical condition.
When working, minimize exposed skin and wear gloves.

Founded in 1909, this lacquer raw materials store handles all the refining, mixing and sales of lacquer in-house.
We provide lacquer to lacquer artists and craftsmen nationwide, as well as to the restoration of various national treasures and important cultural properties, including Nikko Toshogu Shrine. We have the largest share in the handling of Japanese lacquer. We have developed our own highly dispersed refined lacquer, "Korin."
Feeling a sense of crisis about the recent decline in demand for lacquer, in 2016 he launched the lacquer promotion activity "Urushi no Ippo."
In 2019, the "BEYOND TRADITION" project was launched to convey the appeal of lacquer as a sustainable material and to close the gap between people and lacquer.
We communicate new values and possibilities of lacquer, such as lacquer x SURF, lacquer x SKATE, and lacquer x BMX.
