The white porcelain by world-renowned artist Taizo Kuroda is sometimes described as having a "Zen feel" due to his simple and intricate style, but as the creator himself, Kuroda is surrounded by a lot of "cuteness" and "color."

"Colorful" was created by repeatedly photographing Kuroda's beloved objects and living spaces over a period of about a year and a half, and by conducting over 100 hours of interviews with him, it is a book that unravels the hidden anecdotes and stories of his life.

This book also includes photos of Kuroda's previous works before he started making white porcelain. It also includes scenes from the making of white porcelain, which have rarely been shown before, making it a valuable resource.
The preface was written by Hiroshi Fujiwara.
The box that encases the pure white book, reminiscent of Kuroda's white porcelain, is Kuroda's "black." The black cardboard is printed twice in black to create a jet black finish. The title "Colorful" not only conveys the fact that the book introduces the beautiful and colorful things that Kuroda loved, but also conveys Kuroda's "colorful career," "colorful character," and "colorful scene."
