"Domu" - the overwhelming drawing ability and story-building power that has influenced many creators. This "pinnacle of manga expression" that has yet to be surpassed by anyone is finally being republished in its complete edition!
[Synopsis]
The historic masterpiece "Domu" updated the level of existing manga expression in one fell swoop when it was published in 1983, literally "revolutionizing manga." Although it has been reprinted more than 60 times for more than 20 years, this work is currently out of print, but it is being reprinted and highly anticipated as the first title of the first series of "The Complete Works of Otomo Katsuhiro."
The image quality has been improved by creating a new version based on the original artwork, and the quality of the printing has been greatly improved by using carefully selected paper. In addition, the cover page from the original serialization, which was not included in the book, and the two-color original illustrations have been reprinted and reproduced.
In addition, the illustration that the author had envisioned for the cover of the book is reproduced in full color, and the end of the book includes a commentary by the author himself, making this a complete collection.
[Complete Works Overview]
What is OTOMO THE COMPLETE WORKS?
Katsuhiro Otomo is a creator who has produced one world-famous title after another and is not limited to any particular genre, working as a manga artist, illustrator, film director, scriptwriter, etc. "OTOMO THE COMPLETE WORKS" is a chronological overview, summary, and re-production of all of his diverse "complete works" by the author himself, Katsuhiro Otomo.
This collection of expressive methods that have shocked the world from Japan is not just a personal collection of one artist's work, but also a collection of works that allows you to enjoy an adventure in contemporary culture, including manga, anime, and videos from the 1970s to the present. What has been created by the era? What have artists seen and thought about during that era? And what will the artist attempt next?
--By covering everything from his works to his statements, we will clarify his evolution as an artist and convey his attitude to the next generation of creators. This complete collection will be a completely new collection in which the artist himself has "made himself into a work of art" and recorded as an object, including the feel of it.
