Specification Written from a skater's perspective
The flowing scenery, the usual light

Koji Yamaguchi (born 1982 in Kawasaki, Kanagawa Prefecture) has been depicting scenes he sees in his daily life, incorporating the perspective he gained from skateboarding, which he has been familiar with since his teenage years, into his work. His works, which depict new aspects of familiar objects, bring fresh surprises to viewers, and he is a painter who has been gaining attention in recent years.
After three years of working in New York, he has been based in Tokyo since 2018, and in 2022 he held a five-day solo exhibition, "Small Light," in a factory in his hometown of Kawasaki, which garnered a great response. In 2023, he was selected for a wall art project at Ginza Sony Park, and his field of activity is expanding further.

This first collection of his works features around 90 pieces, from his early works painted in New York to his latest masterpieces. The artist himself was involved in composing the visual pages, making this a book that offers a unique experience of the artwork in print. In addition, it includes original essays by two authors with ties to Kawasaki City (Sugiura Hiroko, curator at Kawasaki City Museum, and Isobe Ryo, a writer known for books such as "Reportage Kawasaki"), which delve into the roots of his expression. (Available in both Japanese and English)
