*This is an old Red Wing advertising visual.

This is the latest in the Lightning Archives series, which "archives" valuable vintage products by theme, and is the first to focus on vintage Red Wings. With the cooperation of Red Wing headquarters in Red Wing City, Minnesota, USA, its Japanese subsidiary Red Wing Japan, a Red Wing store owner and collector in Munich, Germany, and vintage shops and enthusiasts in Japan, a large collection of very valuable vintage Red Wings has been collected.

The book features approximately 230 vintage Red Wing boots from 1907 to the early 2000s, as well as rarely seen catalogs from 1910 to 1985, all of which are compiled into a total of 352 pages.
What is particularly noteworthy is that the book features many real boots from before the 1950s, which have rarely been introduced before. The book also features a photograph of the first model that Red Wing released.
We also photographed a number of valuable catalogs. They are full of little-known information from that time, including product numbers. That's why we wanted to present them as large as possible, so we're presenting each book one by one in images large enough to visually confirm the product number. Since we can't present everything, we've picked out catalogs from 1910, 1937, 1940-41, 1941-42, 1950, 1952, 1954, 1960, and 1985.

Of course, well-worn boots, but even deadstock boots that have aged over the years, give off a unique aura that modern boots don't have. You can feel that from the pages of the magazine. From the 1910s, when they placed importance on "not breaking," to the '20s, when they started to seek functionality, through the '30s, when they specialized for specific purposes and improved functionality, they released the Irish Setter series in the '50s. Red Wing quickly became one of America's leading shoemakers, and since then they have released a series of highly fashionable models, among which they created the "futuristic" category of Super Sole, which combines functionality and fashion, and then led to a huge boom in Japan. We hope you will enjoy the history of Red Wing along with these precious products.
