The Setouchi Triennale is a contemporary art festival held once every three years on the islands of the Setouchi Inland Sea, and is divided into three seasons: spring, summer, and autumn.
Three new areas have been added this year, making a total of 17 areas. The guidebook separates the island areas into those that are exhibited in all three seasons and those that are only exhibited in a particular season.

For each island and area, there is local information, an overall map, "The history and present of the Seto Inland Sea," and a guide to the artworks.
