Seongsu-dong is a town that has been renovated from old factories and reborn as a hub for cutting-edge fashion and culture in Korea.
In this town where the old and the new intersect, Ishikawa spent just two hours in the evening, with tree branches casting shadows on the brick walls, taking pictures of passersby with his camera.


This work is a homage by Walker Evans, a photographer who is one of the leading figures in 20th century American documentary photography, to Labor Anonymous, a group that continued to recruit workers.

Young people dressed in Korea's cutting-edge fashion, elderly people who have survived the post-war period, and young men in military uniforms.
The image of modern Koreans as consumers, recorded through Ishikawa's eyes, makes us realize that we too are walking before the same wall.
