Louise Bourgeois: I have been to hell and back. And let me tell you, it was wonderful.

Louise Bourgeois (1911-2010) is one of the most important artists of the 20th century, and over her 70-year career she produced a wide range of works including installations, sculptures, drawings, and paintings.
Her work explores conflicts between male and female, passive and active, concrete and abstract, conscious and unconscious, and allows polar opposites to coexist. Based on her complex and traumatic experiences from her childhood, she expresses conflicting emotions by sublimating memories and emotions into universal motifs.
His works continue to be exhibited in museums around the world and have influenced many artists.

Bourgeois held his first large-scale solo exhibition in Japan in 27 years. This book is the official catalogue, featuring around 100 works, essays, Bourgeois' diary, and more.

In addition to essays by Tsubaki Reiko (curator at Mori Art Museum) and Jamison Webster (psychoanalyst and writer), the book also features psychoanalytic writings by Bourgeois selected by the exhibition's planning supervisor, Philip Larratt-Smith (curator at the Easton Foundation).
