Fushikaden (New Edition)

This new edition was produced in conjunction with the exhibition "Fushikaden" by Suda Issei, which is being held at the Centre d'Art GwinZegal (France) from July 5, 2024.

"Fushikaden" was an irregular series published in the monthly photography magazine Camera Mainichi over eight issues from December 1975 to December 1977.
Later, a photo book titled "Fushikaden" (Mainichi Sonorama, 1978) was published containing both previously published and unpublished works, but of course it is now out of print.
After many years, this work has been republished, as a complete edition containing all 38 serialised works that were not included in the previous photo book.
This series, which is made up of photos from my travels around Kanto, Tohoku, and Nissho, is the work that I finally got around to, so I feel a deep emotion for it, and I also feel a little embarrassed that I am appearing under my old name.
