"As it is" is a new photo book that Rinko Kawauchi has compiled over the past three years since giving birth, capturing images of children and familiar scenery she encountered while raising her children. In the 20 years since her first photo book, "Utatane" (2001), she has turned her gaze from everyday events to the outside world, and in her recent work, "Halo" (2017), she has carved out images that evoke the distant universe. In "As it is," she returns to her roots by looking again at the everyday scenery in front of her with her own children and family.
