Teenage Smokers 2 started from the point where the original Teenage Smokers book project was finished. The original (Teenage Smokers, Alleged Press, 1999) was only 36 pages long, so most of the images didn't fit. I wanted to preserve the original in its entirety, so I didn't use any of the photos from the previous book. The idea came when I found a box of the original Polaroids taken at the skateboard park in my hometown of Huntington Beach, California in 1994, where the whole series began.
The photographs are a continuation of a series that has been taken without pause since 1994. All the works are shot on film. (Quoted from the publisher's website)
