About the productJapanese

A photographer who traveled to 103 countries in 1,021 days reaches new territory.

A long-awaited new work from photographer Takezawa Uruma, his first in about five years.
Wherever Takezawa has traveled, he has witnessed not only physical borders, but also various "borders" such as racial issues, religious conflicts, and border disputes. In this book, he compares landscape photographs of Iceland with photographs of people's daily lives to ask what a "border" is.

Takezawa Uruma

After returning to Japan, he specialized in underwater photography as a staff photographer for a diving magazine, and in 2005 he became a freelancer and began his career as a photographer in earnest. He has visited over 140 countries and regions so far. From 2010 to 2012, he traveled to 103 countries over 1021 days, and published the photo book "Walkabout" and the companion travelogue "The Songlines."
