This photo book is a reprint of photographer Akiyama Ryoji's "My Little Friends - Chinese Children," originally published in 1983.

As this is a rare book, many in China have expressed a desire for a reprint, so a reprint was produced in 2019, with a new cover photo selected in collaboration with Ryoji Akiyama. The book contains 116 photos from the approximately 8,000 photographs taken during several visits to China in the early 1980s, capturing the smiling faces of many Chinese children.
