This is the official exhibition catalog for the "Hyogo Prefectural Yokoo Emergency Hospital" exhibition currently opening at the Yokoo Tadanori Museum of Contemporary Art in Hyogo Prefecture.

This is an attempt to explore the artist Tadanori Yokoo's awareness of his body in his real life and creative practice, from his childhood when he learned through his five senses to the present day as he contemplates old age.
Based on Yokoo's philosophy of living a life that places trust in what can be obtained through physical sensations rather than the mind or the heart, the clinic offers a variety of medical departments, including ophthalmology, pediatrics, and surgery. Visitors will have the opportunity to reexamine their relationship with their bodies through a wide range of Yokoo's artworks and materials, including his paintings, prints, drawings, books, and favorite books.

The exhibition features works related to Yokoo's "illness," which has led to his having a history of various illnesses, as well as his sickbed diaries and sketches he made while hospitalized. It also looks at the physical changes the artist faces, such as hearing loss and declining eyesight, and explores the relationship between aging and creativity.
