Yoka Muta is a colored porcelain artist who freely reconstructs images from ancient and modern East and West, from divine beasts such as dragons, lions, kirin, and phoenixes to animals and plants from the natural world. This is his first collection of works that gives a full picture of his creative activities. It also includes commentary on his works and a column by the artist himself.

He mainly uses color painting techniques to apply color to ceramics, and produces a wide range of works, from fine arts and crafts such as everyday tableware and tea utensils to artworks. Based on his ideas about modern awareness of nature, he recreates animals, plants, divine beasts, classical designs, etc., and creates color-painted porcelain. In recent years, he has produced a series of color paintings that depict personal experiences and emotional movements, as well as a series of furniture-like works with a disturbing motif of pet animals. His goal as an artist is to engage in activities that mutually communicate the aesthetic sense of books, crafts, and art. He has a studio and residence in Nomi City, Ishikawa Prefecture.
