A new edition of "The Children of the Forest" by Takashi Homma, published in 2011.
This is a series of photographs of the highly radioactive forests of Fukushima and the mushrooms that grow there after the Great East Japan Earthquake. The first edition was published in 2011 in a limited edition of 950 copies in conjunction with an exhibition at blind gallery, but it has been out of print for a long time.
The book also includes new works from Scandinavia, Chernobyl, which has an environment similar to Fukushima, and Stony Point, where musician John Cage lived for 16 years, in an area rich in nature and where mushrooms grew in abundance, where he collected literature on mushrooms, was hospitalized after eating poisonous mushrooms, and was even involved in the founding of the New York Mycological Society.
