Most of his work has never been collected in a book before. Illustrator, costume designer, stage director... he was at the heart of the fashion and art worlds. In a career spanning 50 years, he sketched for every major couture house, from Chanel and Givenchy to Dior and Yves Saint Laurent. He also drew stars such as Miles Davis, and is famous for his work on album covers and posters for The Supremes.

This book brings together his most magnificent work and also includes numerous anecdotes, interviews with people who knew him well, and his personal notes.
