This collection of Polaroid portraits is a truly unique and valuable record that gives a real feel for the history of hip hop from the late 90s to the present day.

Author and photographer Philip Leeds was the former tour manager for NERD and Kelis. He started out just taking commemorative photos of their friends and guests with a Polaroid "BIG SHOT," a camera also used by Andy Warhol. But before he knew it, his collection had grown to a huge one, and he eventually published it as a book.

Kelis, NERD, and Pharrell Williams are all top artists, and the people in the photos are all luxurious members of the music and fashion industries. There are over 250 shots, including Mos Def, Jay-Z, Tyler, the Creator, and Questlove. Finding out who is in the photo is also part of the fun!
