About the productJapanese

Led by Oki Sato, nendo is based in Tokyo and Milan and in recent years has been active in designing the Olympic cauldron for the Tokyo 2020 Olympics and serving as general producer of the Japanese Government Pavilion at the 2025 Osaka-Kansai Expo.

Nendo undertakes a wide range of work, from large-scale designs such as buildings to interior designs for indoor use, and small designs for everyday items such as tableware and stationery.In addition to simply looking beautiful, they produce many products that combine functional beauty with detailed ideas that address specific needs.

For example, there is a ruler with markings printed in black and white that can be used on both black and white paper, and pet products that can be used as a "hut" when inside or a "bed" when on top of it (see image). Products full of playful ideas are gaining popularity both in Japan and overseas.

This book introduces 50 of Nendo's works and products along with sketches that show the process of developing ideas. It's a large-format book, so you can enjoy turning the pages to your heart's content.
