The Scandinavian Airlines System's (SAS) Royal Hotel (now the Radisson Blu Royal) was Copenhagen's first 20-story skyscraper, designed by Arne Jacobsen and completed in 1960 after five years of construction.
In addition to the famous Egg Chair and Swan Chair, Arne Jacobsen designed many other furniture, lighting, carpets, tableware, doorknobs, and even faucets.
The building was completely renovated in 2001 while maintaining its original concept, with the exception of Room 606, which remains as the "Arne Jacobsen Suite" and retains its original colours and interior.
With approximately 500 photographs and drawings, this book showcases the building as it appeared in 1960, and in the process reveals the connections between the SAS House and Jacobsen's earlier work.
