About the productJapanese

A unique world of advertising created by the extraordinary editor-in-chief, Yasuji Hanamori

Hanamori Yasuji was known as the greatest editor-in-chief of the Showa era.
Behind the popularity of "Kurashi no Techo" are the numerous advertisements that the editor-in-chief himself created. You can enjoy Hanamori's "advertising designs" filled with her aesthetic sense, including hanging ads and bookstore ads, beautifully bound in a book. This is the long-awaited second volume in the series, which has gained widespread support from magazine readers to professional designers.

There are three types of covers, including the regular version and two special editions. If you remove the cover and turn it over, it becomes a poster with an actual advertisement for "Kurashi no Techo" printed on it, making it a fun book. Please enjoy Hanamori's dancing letters in both the text and the cover.

Yasuji Hanamori
Born in Kobe in 1911. While studying at the Department of Aesthetics and Art History, Faculty of Literature, Tokyo Imperial University, he assisted painter Sano Shigejiro in producing advertisements. As its first editor-in-chief, he demonstrated his artistic talent in a wide range of fields, including planning, writing, cover art, layout, bookbinding, and advertising. He passed away in 1978.
