This new edition has been published to commemorate the opening of the Taniguchi Yoshiro and Yoshio Memorial Kanazawa Architecture Museum (scheduled to open in the summer of 2019), which will be built on the site of Taniguchi Yoshiro's birthplace (Teramachi, Kanazawa City) and designed by his eldest son, Taniguchi Yoshio.

The photographs of the work at the time of completion that were included in the previous book have been reproduced almost exactly as they were, making this a valuable book that allows you to learn about architecture that no longer exists and the conditions at the time. In addition to many essays written by Yoshiro himself, it also includes essays by Yoshio himself and newly written commentary by Hiroyasu Fujioka (Professor at the Tokyo Institute of Technology), a leading authority on Yoshiro Taniguchi.
