New book "Fukeiron"The Changing Earth and Japan's Memories
With the amazing evolution of technology, we can now see the appearance of any faraway place as if it were right in front of our eyes. But why do people still walk through unfamiliar places and experience scenery that is different from their everyday lives? A "landscape" is an experience of the world in which the wind and light envelope us and awaken our senses. A critic who has been a photographer for a long time and traveled to various places in Japan and around the world has embarked on a journey to explore "where humans come from and where they are heading" through the experience of landscape. The birth of landscape, nature, society, nation, technological innovation, the "Anthropocene," contemporary photography -- the curtains rise on a new theory of civilization.
