Shaun Tan
Born in Australia in 1974.
She was good at drawing from an early age, and worked for a science fiction magazine as a student. She studied fine arts and English literature at the University of Western Australia.
While working as an illustrator and picture book author, he is also expanding his field of work to include work as a stage director and film concept artist.
Arrival, released in 2006, won the Best Picture Award at the Angoulême International Comics Festival and is Shaun Tan's signature work that made his name known around the world. The Lost Thing, which he directed himself and turned into a film over the course of about nine years, won the Academy Award for Best Animated Short Film in 2011. In the same year, he also won the Astrid Lindgren Memorial Prize for Literature.
In 2020, she won the Kate Greenaway Medal for "Tales from the Inner City."
