GINZA TSUTAYA BOOKS original ink, "Edo Color Ink No. 5: Rinpa Colors."
We collaborated with Tag Stationery, a Kyoto-based stationery and miscellaneous goods manufacturer, and developed this product based on the concept of the "Rinpa world," which boasts particularly remarkable, gorgeous beauty even within the Edo period, a time when gorgeous culture flourished.
This product is available in three colors, inspired by the iris colors of Ogata Korin's "Irises Screen" and the waves of Sakai Hoitsu's "Waves Screen." While retaining the calm colors unique to Japanese paintings, it is also characterized by the use of ink with beautiful, sparkling glitter to express the luxurious gold that is a characteristic of the Rinpa school.
This gentle vermilion color is inspired by the poppy petals in "September: Poppy" from Nakamura Hochu's "Flower Picture Book." (This product does not contain glitter.)
