Akira Uno (Author/Writer)
Illustrator and graphic designer.
Born in Nagoya in 1934. Graduated from the Design Department of Nagoya Municipal Technical High School.
After working at Calpis Food Industry, Japan Design Center, and Studio Illfil, he went freelance.
He has received numerous awards, including the Japan Advertising Artists Club Special Selection, the Japan Advertising Artists Club Members Award, the Kodansha Publishing Culture Award, the Sanrio Art Award, the Akaitori Illustration Award, the Japan Picture Book Award, and the Japan Advertising Award Yamana Award.
Received the Medal with Purple Ribbon in 1999 and the Order of the Rising Sun, Gold Rays with Rosette in 2010.
