【profile】
Written by Daijiro Ohara
Born in Kanagawa Prefecture in 1978. Graduated from the Department of Fundamental Design at Musashino Art University in 2003.
With typography as his core field, he works in graphic design, illustration, video production, and more, and also develops projects that explore new perceptions of words and letters through exhibitions and workshops.
Recent projects include the mobile typography series "Mojuryoku" on the theme of gravity, the graphic series "Ridgeline" that reconstructs mountain photographs and climbing maps by Takashi Homma, and the audio description performance "TypogRAPy" that he created with musicians Shuta Hasunuma and Jun Kamoda. He has received the JAGDA Newcomer Award and the Tokyo TDC Award.
