The solar panel on the top charges it with sunlight during the day, and at night it illuminates the surroundings with a gentle light. The Sonnenglas(R) model Generation 6 can be used as a lantern in combination with a bottle, or as a portable light with the "SOMO(TM)" solar top alone.
